Update 4/11, 4 PM: The server room A/C unit is now fixed and we are bringing up all services. We are restoring normal operations across all services including Ion, Director, and JupyterHub. Update 4/9, 3:30 PM: Ion is now back up after being down on Wednesday. A power outage Tuesday night knocked out several networking switches, and our backup battery systems did not kick-in due to the extra load from backup A/C cooling systems. This resulted in several network issues that brought Ion down. Thank you for your support and we apologize for the inconvenience. We are continuing to wait for the A/C to be repaired and service disruptions are still possible.

Update 4/4, 8 pm: We still have not received any further information on when the A/C will be repaired. The engineers have ordered a part and are waiting for it to arrive. Temperatures are now increasing again, and we are employing all cooling methods we have available. JupyterHub has increased in capacity and can now support 64 users at a time. Thank you for your patience.

Update 4/1, 8 pm: Temperatures in the server room remain high, but have stabilized after we shut down non-essential systems. We are now optimistic that most services will stay up. However, outages and service degradations are still possible. In particular, JupyterHub is operating at heavily reduced capacity.

Initial update 4/1, 12 pm: We have been notified that the server room A/C unit has been shutdown to address another leak. This means many CSL services will likely be going down in the near future. We will try to keep as many services up as possible, but disruptions are likely. Please plan on possibly not having access to services including Ion, Director, JupyterHub, and mail.
